Famous for its Gothic Nave, the Carhedral of Saint Mary of Girona actually has the widest Gothic nave in the world with a 22 meter length.

Seven centuries in the making, the cathedral church of the Roman Catholic Diocese of Girona, dates back in the 11^th century, when it was originally constructed in Romanesque style, while later on in the 13^th century it was continued in Gothic style. Today the reminders of the original Romanesque style are evident in the 12^th century cloister and the bell tower.

The treasury, the medieval tapestry and the two hand-copied 13^th Century Bibles justify the €5 admission fee.
