"Multi level church for multi level history. 3 buildings in one."

Multi level church for multi level history. The Roman Catholic Basilica di San Clemente consists of 3 structures: the more recent basilica dating in the 11th century and the older 4th century basilica, all of which sit on the foundations of a nobleman's home from 64 AD. Expect to find steps and catacombs, so wear some good shoes and take no pics inside. The roof and walls in the interior are really impressive with golden colors, mosaics and sculpted surfaces.
