"Prime example of typical Gothic rhythm church."

Barcelona's Cathedral, or the Cathedral of the Holy Cross and Saint Eulalia, are prime examples of typical Gothic rhythm. It was built between the 13th and 15th centuries. The animals on the roof are inspired by both mythology and wildlife.

What used to be a crypt of a former Visigothic chapel, is now a church dedicated to Eulalia of Barcelona, co-patron saint of Barcelona, a young virgin who suffered in the hands of the Romans. You can still see the crypt through its raised altar.
