"A moving sight for the soldiers with no graves."

A touching sight, the Menin Gate Memorial to the Missing is dedicated to those lost in the Salient of World War I and whose graves are unknown. It can be found at the eastern exit of the town, at the road that led Allied soldiers to the front line. It was designed by Sir Reginald Blomfield and built by the British government in 1927.
