"Once a prominent seaport and now a busy ferry port connecting with Denmark."

Once a prominent seaport and now a busy ferry port, Hamntorget (Harbor Square), features the Seafarers Monument (by Carl Milles), a column topped by a figure of Mercury and a commemorating plaque nearby. Nya Knutpunkten at Hamntorget as it is also called is basically a fast link point between Sweden and Denmark. Stores, restaurants, a parking garage and the underground bus terminal are also located in this terminal complex.
