"The town's oldest church."

Helsingborg's oldest church, the Church of St. Mary (Mariakyrkan), dates back to the 14th century. Dressed in red Danish brick and built with Gothic style architecture, this church is interesting for many reasons: the vestry cellar, the 15th century altar screen, the stained glass windows and the well preserved 800 year old sculptures.

The famous composer Dietrich Buxtehude was an organist at this church in the 17th century, thus the plaque.
