"One of those buildings that you can feel the agony of completing it."

One of those buildings that you can feel the agony of completing it back in the 14th century, as it took 400 years to be completed. Ghent's City Hall is so perfect in its flamboyance, that it's such a show off.

On the side of the facade in Hoogpoort, it features Gothic style and on the Botermarkt, Renaissance.

The nineteen figure sculptures on the facade refer to the counts of Flanders.

So admire this one from outside and move on.
