The queue to get in is unbelievable. You won't believe your eyes. And it starts really early. So if you want to avoid that and the hot sun, you have 2 options. The fastest and least expensive way to visit the Vatican Museum is to book your ticket online, at least a week before you visit. Here is the link.
Alternatively, there are a lot of tour guides outside the museum, where you pay extra to cut through the lines and go inside with them.
Inside the museum there is a stunning spiral staircase, an abundance of Renaissance art work, sculptures and of course the Cappella Sistina.
