"The little Medieval French village with a secret."

Lagrasse is a small Medieval village 35’ drive from Carcassonne. It is the only village in the Aude Pays Cathare that holds the “Most Beautiful Villages of France” flag. The town is definitely worth a visit.

Lagrasse has a nostalgic ochre colored aura which comes from the Medieval houses, the bridge, the abbey and the streets. It is a picturesque and traditional French village which hides a good secret. You will probably not stumble upon this spot so here it goes; How to find the Secret Waters of Lagrasse Abbey:

Upon leaving the abbey take the street towards the river. You will probably see other French people heading that direction. You will end up at a small bridge and a river where people jump in the water and swim or just sit across the bridge and wet their feet.
