"When West meats East wonderful foods happen."

An unexpected gastogem in Milan, Benoteca is a funky expression of traditional Japanese / French cuisine. And when West meats East wonderful foods happen.
During our visit, a fully packed Sunday lunch in September 24, we had the interactive Negitoro, which was a "make your own" tuna temaki with eggyolk, a Wagyu menchikatsu sandwiche to die for, the Veal bone marrow on charcoal grill and seasoned with fermented squid, another one for the heavens, Gyoza with shrimp and pork on a crispy base and ponzu sauce, which was also incredible.
The top dish of the night was the Soup VGE homage to Paul Bocuse which was Confit veal brain served in a sukiyaki wagyu soup, foie gras and covered by puff pastry. On the side a sauce with yuzukosho, tosatsu and sansho pepper leaf. Truly an homage to the French old school masters by the new students.
Service was friendly and the ambience quite nice.
