If it hadn’t been for the publicity Septime restaurant received on a popular ranking list there would probably be less expectations. But you can't help yourself but going in with the highest hopes. Let's take things from the beginning.

On the day of the visit we had the option of the long menu (four courses plus cheese or dessert) or the short version where you choose 3 courses). We took the long option of course.

The first dish was a herring sashimi style, the second braised lamb, then a fish dish, followed by guinea fowl. The guinea fowl was cooked to perfection. The food served did not display a high level of technique or complexity. It was more of a relaxed and rustic representation of French cuisine. The dessert served was something with green apples which we were not able to eat.

The ambience at Septime was rustic and warm on a fully packed Thursday lunch service. All sorts of people from all layers seemed to be there...
