"Braise your self for this one. Fine food just got casual."

Braise your self for this one. It is a one man show and quite a show. Imagine a room of approximately 80 square meters (which includes the kitchen) and then place 60 diners in that area... well squeeze, don’t place. So tight, it is difficult not to pick a conversation with your neighbor diner. Plus, the Basque chef was clapping his hands loudly, each time an order was ready. So L’ Ami Jean restaurant is not for you, if you find all this noise appalling.

At the day of the visit, complimentary homemade pate was awaiting on the table. We tried the calamari and a special seared foie with apple and beef cheek. All of them were fine choices. The pigeon also looked amazing from the next table. Each dish was delicious, generously portioned with excellent materials. The food was refined in taste but the presentation was less formal, even though there is a high level of technique displayed to achieve such result...
